About Me

I’m a stay at home mom to two beautiful children and a military wife who works part time as a child nutrition consultant. I’ve been a registered dietitian for ten years and love to cook.  I’ve specialized in child nutrition the entire time–focusing on eating disorders and pediatric conditions such as obesity, failure to thrive, and diabetes.

These days, my specialties are sneaking fruits and veggies into every day dishes. What originally started as an adoption blog when we brought our son home from Vietnam in 2008 has evolved into our day to day story of food and family.

You can read about our Adoption Story here.

After a prenatal diagnosis of homozygous MTHFR at 12 weeks and a diagnosis of gestational diabetes at 27 weeks, we are thrilled to be the proud parents of a beautiful baby girl born in the summer of 2010. Our little miracle baby was born 2 weeks early and runs the house.

Feel free to follow along as I explore life, motherhood, and a love of cooking and family nutrition.

The book we discussed at lunch is “Breaking Blue” by Timothy Egan. It is an old book (1990’s) about a crime that took place in the 1930’s in Spokane. (True Story.)
