Happy Thanksgiving

November 29, 2013

My apologies for the long hiatus from blogging. We’ve been soaking things in around here. School and family and friends are keeping us busy and we are starting to feel at home in the north east.

This year, we hosted our first Thanksgiving meal for our family. It was nothing short of amazing after all of our years in the military to be in our home on a holiday, surrounded by loved ones. In my mind, I kept thinking “this is why we are here.”  We were overjoyed, to say the least.

I almost don’t have the words for the day. Even sweet grandpa Leo made a second phone call at the beginning of dinner because he hadn’t had a chance to wish me a happy holiday. We ate and drank, laughed an hugged, and had a great day.

I am thankful for:

Our family.

Our beautiful new home.

The start to a wonderful new way of life for us.

My husband and children that I love so dearly.

And all of our beloved friends back in the desert who have kept in touch and continued to provide love and support through this transition.

Congratulations on your first holiday home surrounded by family. I see all the guys banded together for Movember. What an awesome way to celebrate family! Wishing you many, many more holidays with your loved ones.
