Cooking Light–Cheddar Cheese Burgers with Caramelized Shallots

Summer to me means time spent out by the pool enjoying some great grill food. A few weeks ago we tried these burgers from the May 2012 Cooking Light.

Oh Yeah! I’m not usually a fan of burgers made with 90% lean beef…there is such a thing as “too lean” for some food items and a burger should be juicy, right?  This recipe provided juicy caramelized shallots and the melty goodness of shredded cheddar that made me forget that I usually don’t like lean burgers. It came together quickly and easily and we were able to skip the shallots for the kids. Perfect!
