First Day of Pre K and Day 16 of the 30 Days of Cooking Light Challenge…We’re BAAACK!

August 22, 2011

Today is a very big day!

My little man is so grown up!

Even though his backpack is nearly as tall as he is…he started school today. We had some nervous tears, but he made me so proud!

I made this recipe to celebrate my little guy’s first day. It’s from Cooking Light’s “Snack Mix Recipes for Picky Kids” and contains most of Morgan’s favorite treats–mini marshmallows, m&m’s, pretzels, cheerios, and golden raisins. At 110 calories per half cup serving, it might be one of my best discoveries yet 🙂

No cooking involved! Still special enough to let my guy know how much I love him.

Sister is quite the back pack thief!

She was excited to model her new “back to school” dress for the cameras.

Too cute….and what a VERY big day! Woo hoo Mo Man! Kinda brings a tear to my eyes, Jen….I can still remember YOU on the first day in my class….trying to be cool and not to excited…I mean, geez, it was high school….but excited and engaged in learning something very new for you…French! You took to it like a duck to water and jumped any hurdle or challenge I threw out there for you like the champ you are!

What an awesome Mom you are, too. That special snack looks way cool…may have to make that for myself! Can’t wait to hear all about Mo Man’s first day of school! Sister is a cutie patootie too!

Thank you Mlle H! I was so excited to start French class…even while trying to be cool. The snack mix is delicious! I took it to our weekly play date this afternoon and ate more of it than anyone else 🙂

ps–Morgan was a champ, too! I am so proud of him.
