Getting back into the game

August 7, 2011

I have been feeling sorry for my “one handed self.”

I’ve spent the weekend indulging in Costco precooked meals (OOH Korean Tacos!) and being a total cry baby about the fact that I will not be lifting weights any time in the near future. I’ve snarfed down a steak and pecan pie on date night…mere hours after getting tearful about all the weight that I will gain if I cannot work out.

Today, I poured a bowl of multigrain cereal and took stock. I can still do cardio if I keep my hand elevated. I can still do squats, lunges, sit ups and anything else that does not require the use of my hand. I can cook if I don’t have to lift something heavy out of the oven. I will just have to work within these temporary limitations and make the best of it!

So, it’s time to quit wallowing and get back into the game.

I’m not sure that I am up for posting daily recipes right now…but I am sure that I can post two per week. Thanks for all of the comments and support!

Good attitude, Jen – way to make lemonade out of the situation! And there’s nothing wrong with some Costco meals!

Woah! I’m just getting caught up with my blogs. Sorry to hear about your fingers! I seriously can’t imagine taking care of my 2 kids while I had any sort of injury – my hat’s off to you!

And Korean tacos? Mmmm! I wish we lived near a costco.
