We had a great week at the beach.

My heart swelled to see my little Mo Man so excited to play with all of his cousins. We don’t get to see them as often as we would like and it was fantastic to sit in the sun and watch them swim, run, and dig in the sand. Digging at the beach is serious business!

There were plenty of little bugs, too.

I watched my guy thrive in the family….he’s so outgoing and sweet. His cousins adore him. It has always been my nature to be over protective and worry myself to death, and it seems to be all for nothing. This little man is just fine 🙂

Leighton, however, is dealing with big time separation anxiety. She only wanted Mom or Dad for the entire trip. It was a bit of a disaster. J and I had to take turns playing “pass the baby” or risk a scene like this one:

She was such a stinker! I’m going to black mail her with this photo at her wedding some day….

J’s sweet mom threw a birthday party for both of my little ones during the week and it was such great fun. She combined every theme that Morgan loved–pirates, toy story, and dinosaurs. He was in HEAVEN.

The girls had tiaras and Leighton received this absolutely gorgeous tutu and head band from her Aunt Maggie. It was my turn to be in heaven…oh my little girlie girl!

Jennifer: looks like the Eager family had a good time at the shore! Aren’t children amazing? My Mom also used to delight in the instant rapport between me and my sisters and our cousins that lived in Alabama. We would take up like we had just seen each the previous day….wonderful! So glad that Morgan had a blast….and the birthday party — all of those themes combined — well, I’m thinking J’s mom gets the mother-in-law of the year award!

it is amazing how they just pick up exactly where they left off! I love to watch Morgan and his cousins 🙂
My MIL definitely gets points for a fantastic birthday for the kids. It made the week so special for them!

Looks like a great family vacation! So cool that your MIL had a birthday party for them too!

And we are going through the same separation anxiety with Sam right now. One day he would just go to anyone, and then the next day he would only go to me or Marc! Hope this phase passes quickly!
