It Begins with Awareness..

Please visit this link in support of families everywhere who share the hopes that their child with downs syndrome will be loved and accepted as the special and amazing gift that they are.

Nella Cordelia’s story touched my life when I was pregnant with Leighton. After our first loss…we had every test in the book fearing that our baby would have another fatal birth defect. As we cleared each hurdle I remember breathing a sigh of relief that my child would have a chance at a healthy “normal” life.

I remember reading Kelle’s post about Nella’s birth and the fear of the unknown when she knew her daughter had a disability. Kelle has rocked this diagnosis and her family is something special. Nella is a beautiful little girl full of joy and I still read every day.

Please take some time to read about the Hampton family and to support Nella and those like her. They deserve a world that celebrates these beautiful kids for the gift that they are and the wonder and innocence that they bring to our lives.

I read Nella’s birth story a little while back and it is just so incredibly beautifully written. I made the mistake of reading it when The Husband was sitting next to me and totally started blubbering. He couldn’t figure out what the heck was going on!

I know exactly what you mean–I totally cried my eyes out and J was like “what is wrong with you?!?”
