Prenatal Massage and a Girl's Night Out! On my anniversary :)
If you’ve followed my blog for the 3 years that I have been posting–you are probably over the annual flashback to our wedding…but I just love these pictures!
J and I had the date for our anniversary last weekend, but yesterday was our 5th anniversary. We typically celebrate with champagne, cheese and crackers, and a screening of “So I Married an Ax Murderer”. AHHH….he gets me 🙂 Nothing better than snuggling with my love on the couch while we recite the lines to the movie and snicker like two kids.
Yesterday, I was a busy girl and did not get to watch our favorite movie. Instead, I had my first ever prenatal massage and it was a thing of beauty. My girlfriend Cheryl, who is thoughtful beyond words, bought a gift certificate for me on my birthday in January and I am just now getting around to using it. I kept waiting to feel “better” but I decided a few weeks ago that now was as good a time as any!
Massages are usually not my thing–I have had the good, the bad, and the ugly and very rarely am able to relax. The massage yesterday blew my mind. My whole body seemed to let go of months of stress and I caught myself almost falling alseep to the sweet smell of lavender scented oil while nestled into the covers on the table and lying on my side to allow the masseuse to work without squoooshing baby Elmo.
Groggy and grateful, I emptied my wallet out tipping this amazing woman. I also scheduled another visit in a few weeks. I deserve it 🙂
J and I had a nice outdoor lunch at one of our favorite spots–and then picked Mo up. He was happy and excited after a good day at school and telling me that his friend had an “accident” today but that he “used the big boy potty”. Each day that the little squirt comes home wearing the clothes he left in is a victory! It is so cute to hear him exclaim about the accomplishment.
One of my neighborhood friends is moving away in a few weeks, so J agreed to watch Morgan while I went to her farewell dinner at a local sushi spot last night. There were about ten of us girls dressed up and enjoying the evening. So much fun! Two of us are pregnant right now so we got to gab about baby stuff most of the night and it felt great to share that. I wore a strapless black top and my trusty Paige jeans and actually felt like a hot mama 🙂
I am grateful to be friends with such an incredible group of ladies. It has been one of the best parts about our living in our neighborhood. Good times !
