Overcoming "the crud"
That’s what we call the nasty respiratory illness that I’ve been battling this week. Non-stop sinus drainage and headaches….bleh…accompanied by a terrible cough and sore throat.
Today, I made it back to the gym for a body pump class–it’s one of my favorite group classes of all time. I used to do it all the time when I was stationed in Virginia. Now, I’m slowly getting back into shape. The class is an hour long workout with a weighted bar and it kicks butt!
Jeremy and I had a wonderful brunch with Morgan this morning and then took him to the park for some play time. He is much more coordinated these days and learning to climb up to the slide by himself. We played on the swings and made him laugh non-stop by throwing his blankee in the air when he came near and playing peek a boo with it. It was so cute!
This afternoon, I tried watching a cartoon with him for the first time. We put in “Finding Nemo” and he was riveted for about 30 minutes. I worried about the movie making him sad–Nemo loses his mom in the beginning and Morgan was SO serious during that part. He loved watching the ocean scenes and laughed at the sea turtles with their Valley Dude voices. Not bad for some cuddle time on the couch.
We had a simple dinner tonight–fajitas for mom and dad and rice and peas for the little guy who still doesn’t care much for meat. Then, a sunset walk around the neighborhood.
All in all…a GREAT Saturday.
