Mommy's Ipod

February 24, 2009

Mommy shows Morgan how to listen to the Ipod (Please ignore scary post workout look!)
Going Solo

Adding some dance moves

Shake it like a Polaroid Picture!
We’re still having sleep issues here–Morgan is waking up at 10pm, 11pm, 12am…etc. He is standing in his crib shouting MAMA! And when I go in, he looks like he’s jumping off of the Titanic. He starts throwing blankets and his pillows at me and reaching his little arms up for me to take him out.
We’ve tried everything that we can think of to make this situation better, but it seems to be getting worse. Right now, we are trying the old “pat the back and reassure” thing, but he keeps getting back up. We’ve tried just standing at the bedroom door and speaking softly to him, adding a night light, and leaving his door and our door open.
Anyone dealt with this?
We’re going on vacation in a week and had planned to leave Morgan with Jeremy’s little brother for the first time…but now we’ve switched our plans to take the little guy and his uncle with us as our Manny. I just cannot see being away from him when he’s displaying so much insecurity.

Love these pics…I have to say, Jen, I am blown away by your decision to take Morgan with you. You are such a sweet mommy! Sounds like just a stage to me and that you are going above and beyond! Phoebe has had weird sleeping stages too…they come and go. The most important thing is to just be there for him and give him lots of love…which you are doing. Have a great trip!!!

The only advice I can offer, is that it will get better. Our Katie is going through the same thing. She is 2 1/2 y.o. I cannot remember the last time she slept through the night. When I go in she is crying out “Mama”. I have tried to just pat her done, but she does not go for this at all. I pick her up and hold her for about one minute and then she will go right back in the crib until the next time she wakes up. I guess I can’t complain, because she goes right back down, but boy, all of those sleep interuptions are rough on the days I have to get up at 5am. Our 12 yo bio son did the same exact thing, so I think it is just the age and eventually it will get better. Good luck with Morgan. I think you made a great decision to take him with you on vacation. Have a great trip

LOVE those pictures! And glad my children are not the only ones addicted to their parents iPods…they listen to mine more than I do 🙂

I know this is not necessarily a popular opinion, but it works. Go in, reassure for a minute and walk out. I have 2 from VN (25 months old) that sleep like angels 11 hours a night. I will work in a very short period of time.
