Getting Used to It
He wakes up happy each morning–loves to snuggle in bed and play for nearly an hour before getting up. Morgan likes to roll from pillow to pillow and laugh when we give him kisses or make faces.
Breakfast is always fun–he falls in love with a new waitress each morning!
Our morning nap is the easiest–the American TV station here has episodes of Northern Exposure each morning at ten and Morgan takes a bottle while lying on a pillow on the floor and easily falls asleep. He likes knowing we are in the same room with him…most of the time I will lie next to him until he falls asleep and then I get up to make my daily blog post.
Afternoons are the time that we try to see more of Hanoi and get a trip to the play room in. he’s very social and gets excited about seeing new people. He fights sleep the most in the afternoon–doesn’t want to miss a thing!
Last night, we met the others in our group and the couple from Australia that was on our cruise to HaLong Bay for a cocktail in the hotel bar. Morgan was in his element–smiling and laughing and charming everyone. He likes to dance when he hears music and he is usually the center of attention. We had dinner in the main restaurant and he tried some mashed potatoes. LOVED THEM. I think that the potatoes actually kept him full enough to sleep a bit better last night–he only woke once at 1:30 and then slept until 6am. This was paradise after his usual routine of waking every 2-3 hours.
We have our embassy appointment and medical clinic appointment on Thursday. We are hoping to be able to fly out of Hanoi next Tuesday if all goes well! It is amazing to think that we have made it to this point.
